New Congressional District lines were drawn after the 2010 census that put both Columbia County and Richmond County in District 12. It takes Chatham county entirely out of the district. before, metro Augusta was split into two separate congressional districts. The new district lines will now put greater focus on metro Augusta, with it being the center of population for the district.***
